How to Make a Chocolate Covered Strawberry and Not Gain a Pound

Well, I am kind of telling the truth.

Hobby Lobby had marked down
the fake fruit 50% off this week.

I was needing something red
to fill my glass jar  for
Valentine's Day!

Strawberries sounded scrumptious!

4 bags of strawberries later
and it occurred to me that
the strawberries needed something.

CHOCOLATE of course!

Here are the steps to make your own:

Supplies needed:

  • Plastic fruit
  • Martha Stewart Crafts Brownstone Glitter
  • Americana Acrylic Paint in Burnt Umber
  • Plaid Clear Acrylic Sealer
  • Foam Paint Brush
Directions:

Paint strawberry's tip with brown paint.

Sprinkle Glitter on the strawberries while the paint is still wet

It really is that easy!
Spray your strawberries once they are dry with a sealer.
This will help keep the glitter from collecting at the bottom of your jar!

Remember these may look like real strawberries
 but they are NOT!
Keep out of reach from young children and little paws!

Well, Ms Kara, opened my Creating Keepsakes today and lo and behold there were some shots of your craft area! Really pretty-reminds me of Vic's favorite colors. We crafters are so much alike; we all seem to have some of the same type of items that we love.
Hope all is well. (Cannot believe how quickly Miss H is turning into a woman! She looks more and more like you all the time! Lucky kid!)
Hugs,
Liv
