The Mad Hatter

This is a very late birthday present for my friend, Teresa. It is exactly 1 month to the day late. Trust me, I am not proud of this fact by any means but I am happy to have it ready to be mailed. On her birthday, she was sent hand-made party hats from all over the US. All of the hats were so spectacular. They were posted on a Flickr group for all to admire. Between CHA and getting children ready to start the school year, I unfortunately put this project on the back burner. I haven't scrapbooked anything since, CHA. I bought a hat box from the craft store and covered it in my favorite color combination-pink and black. I didn't create your typical party hat. I bought a hat last Spring at an Antique Store and hoped it would be party worthy. Adding a simple flower and a ceramic bird (it actually an ornament for your Christmas tree), was all the embellishment I felt this hat needed. So, I am off to the post office to mail a very late present to my dear friend....Happy Late Birthday.



I was needing the perfect birthday card, when I saw this one....I was laughing aloud in the card aisle. I know I have a strange sense of humor. Ha ha ha

I am still LOL!

Here are our new, yummy French doors. Yes, I know they only have 1 door knob....I am on to my husband about that. Both doors open up to the deck. But the cool part is ....they have built in blinds between the glass. Oh, I am loving this. No more awful kid unfriendly, dog destroyed hanging, sagging blinds. Not only do these doors have built in blinds between the glass they have window panes like the rest of my home. That fantastic little knob does all the magic. Bye bye sliding glass door...I won't miss you one single bit.
