Card #11 and Card #12

I was hoping to get on an earlier flight today...but since I am not, here are 2 cards instead of one!
The first one is not one of my favorites...It is a quick one!

Supplies:
Peter H. School paper
& Hopscotch paper
A button to match each thought bubble
Adhesive Chipboard (Classmates)

I trimmed from the pattern paper the thought bubbles I liked and positioned them to come out of the adhesive chipboard people. I realised after creating it that there are also clearly yours thought bubbles I could have used instead of cutting. That would have been even faster.

Card #12
Supplies: Card is from Brenda Walton
Pattern papers are all Brenda Walton
Twinkle Type "SEA"
Acetate or transparency
Hemp or Jute
Real Sand, star fish, and sea shell

To create this card, I placed 2 pieces of acetate together in the card's window. Between the acetate I place sand and a shell found on the shore. I glued the acetate together, so no sand would leak out. I believe I used K & Companies-wacky tac Craft Glue. It is a liquid and dries so clear. Next, I cut and tore my pattern paper and adhered it to the bottom of the card. I wrapped the jute around the card and tucked the starfish and twinkle type glitter letters on the card. Craft Glue will hold even the starfish.

I found these cards when all of my shelving above my computer came crashing down on my head. What a mess! It caused me to re-organize. Something I am always doing with my craft supplies. I'm off to Sin City...Kara

Card #10

Today is Hayden's birthday... I can't believe I have an eleven year old! She wrote a birthday list of a few things she would like for her birthday. On it, were things like Roxy clothes, Madonna's new CD, Grease 2 the movie, and a cell phone. She wrote in brackets next to the cell phone "highly unlikely but wanted!" Shane and I decided to go ahead an get her one because 1) she is a very responsible kid 2)she is involved in so many activities that it would be nice if she could call and let me know when practice ends early. We wanted to make the cell phone experience a learning one because most likely as an adult, she will have one. We got her the pay as you go phone. It comes with 40 minutes and then you can add time. She called her grandma as soon as she opened and said, "Grandma, I have to call you back on our regular phone because I don't want to use all my minutes"! LOL...I hope this will be a good learning tool for her.

Supplies:

Peter Horjus K and Company school paper
Hopscotch-yellow sewn type paper
Schoool adhesive chipboard
Office file tabs

I think this little card would also double as a good end-of-the-school year autograph book!

Card #9-

This is my "Crazy Month"...it is like December only it is beautiful May. Hayden's birthday is Tuesday...yes, I know I just had Sutton's birthday. My babies are 10 days apart for birthday's and 4 years apart on age. We laugh that this year they will be 7/11. We need a photo in front of a gas station! We added to the craziness by throwing in a family vacation, a new car, and an new air conditioner. Not to forget, my dad's birthday, Mother's day, and graduations. The icing on the cake is that I leave Thursday for Las Vegas and the kiddos have way too many end-of-the year activities...field day, 5Th grade recognition, writer's celebration....Aaaaaah!!! I know, I am crazy.

Here is a school card in honor of school almost out for summer!

Supplies:
paper-Rough and Tumble by K and Company
chipboard-Adhesive school chipboard by K and Company
clear plastic baggie found in the baking section at a craft store
Skittles-YUMMY

To Create the card, cut 2 apple shapes. One has a circle in the center of it and the other doesn't. Glue large apple pieces together like you would, if you were creating a pocket. Add baggie with Skittles in it between the 2 apple pieces. Stitch apples together and add embellishments. These would be a cute end of the school year gift or beginning of the school year gift.

I am missing every one's blog so much. I can't wait until June and I can get caught up on every one's lives! Hugs!!!Kara

Card #8

Card #8 is more of a mini book. Is a great place to add your extra vacation photos for a scrapbook page. If you are like me, you take way too many photos on a trip.

Supplies: Sea Glass paper
Travel Adhesive Chipboard
brown thread for sewing machine

I have been on a whirl-wind since our return home from a vacation. Sutton had a birthday, Mother's Day, and design work has kept me hopping. Yesterday, I taught a class and before leaving my home I dropped my cell phone in the toilet. Yikes! My little pink phone is toast! I am going to have to visit T-Mobile today. I don't even know a phone I would like. Technology really stresses me out! Mother's Day was nice...it started with cards and a Starbucks and ended with a new car. No, it is not my dreamy Lexus, but it is nice. I am transitioning from a convertible to a sedan (from 2 door sporty to having a car with 4 doors). It is rough on my ego but I am surviving...plus is was a nice gift from my hubby. Well, I need to get busy...6/13 cards finished. I need to make a one page layout and a craft item. I have to buy a new phone so I better get crafting. Kara

Card #7-

We had a wonderful vacation in Virginia and North Carolina. I am still recovering and doing laundry. We left in the morning, after a tornado hit our area. I was packing with a flashlight. Not so fun! I am not sure of many of the Tornado details, but it hit Gladstone at approximately 2:30 am. I just crawled into bed. Not one siren was going off. We lost our trampoline but that was it. I drove down North Oak on my way home from the air port and saw some rebuilding. After living through the destruction of a F5 several years ago, I am thankful no one lost their lives. Our trip away was fabulous. I could easily live in Virginia and would love to vacation every year on the Outer Banks of North Carolina shore. I am completely overwhelmed with the history lessons I saw and didn't relax much because I was afraid I would miss something. I carried everywhere I went my letter from Liv. She gave us so much good information and I can't thank her enough. A highlight of my trip was giving her a call on our way to Jamestown. She is just a gem through and through.

Okay enough about our vacation...how about a vacation card?
Here is #7

Supplies:
Sea Glass background paper and palm tree green paper
Mira yellow paper
Old Tim Coffey brown paper from his vacation line
Relax is from the Travel Chipboard sheet...it also had "Travels" on it from the previous post.
I added Brenda Walton green gems to the card.
The net is from some plastic produce I bought at Hobby Lobby. I know I save everything. Kara
