Margo Mini Book

This is a little, chunky board book I created with the Margo line from K and Company. I loved the unusual shape of the chipboard book. After looking at it for way too many days, I decided to cut a hole in the book. The hole is cut in the lower right-hand corner of the book. The button on page 1 is peeking out of the hole. You could cover the hole if you didn't like it or even place a photo peeking out from the hole. I love the whole vintage vibe with the papers and the colors. This book is a kit from K and Company. They let me design it. The kit comes with everything shown.

Thanks for peeking at one of my CHA projects.

I'm Home!

After CHA, my family drove to Chicago for a mini vacation. Our first night together, we rode the Ferris wheel at Navy Pier. It was a little scary but a lot of fun. I will show vacation photos later. I know from your emails that you want to see show pictures. Here are some of the NEW lines from K and Company.
This is the NEW Christmas line. It is called Peppermint Twist by Brenda Walton. The Christmas tree is full of ornaments by Melanie Cantrell. The layout is by Vanessa Hudson and the amazing packages were made by Pam Lange. Isn't it just yummy?

Love is in the air with another NEW line called Smitten. It glitters and sparkles. You can see a cute layout by Angelia Wigginton. Pam Lange did this amazing mobile.

Next, is a line for everyone. It is called Wild Saffron. The brown, red, yellow, and blue tones work for most scrapbookers. Kelly Keller created and amazing layout. I wish I would have taken a closer picture of it. Breathtaking! Melanie Cantrell created a neat little bag. You can see it closer on her blog. I think Kelly also created the "Herbs" sign. I got the honor of crafting the large flowers for the display.

This is Pam's daughter. She was the witch that helped welcome our NEW Halloween line by Tim Coffey to the show. I love Halloween so this is one of my favorite lines.

This is Margo. It has a classic vintage flair to it. I love turquoise and pink together. There is just so much detail in each piece.

Pam Lange created this amazing dress. She made it from paper printed on a large format printer. She used a vintage pattern and sewed it like it was fabric. It even has button holes where the gorgeous brads are. It was a show stopper!

Here is the craft line. So many clever ideas that are simple to create. I am sure this was a big seller.

Last but not least, our Ancestry line. This is a classic K and Company line. The warm tones mixed with the browns and teals makes this line easy to use with your families old photos. I love the old looking leather albums.

Looking at all these photos of our booth, made me realize just how talented everyone is. I work with such an amazing design team. I am lucky to be a part of it. I wish I would have taken more photos of their samples.

Chicago...My Kind of Town

I will be in Chicago for a few days. I can't wait to see all the new products. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I will upload lots of photos when I get back. Kara

Needing a Break!

Sutton and I headed to Tiffany Springs Water Park on Tuesday. I needed a break from all the CHA stuff and Sutton needed Mom-time. Only my son would put 10 tattoos on his belly. He is such a little man to be going off the high board.

I went to bed a 9:00. That is very unlike me. The sun went straight to my head. I hope everyone is staying cool in this heat. Kara

I've Been Tagged by Vicki....

7 Random Things about moi!

  1. I drink coffee before bed at least 3 times a week and I am not talking decaffeinated. It has no effect on my sleep.

  2. I love for my 48lb. dog to jump in bed with me and lay on my feet. So, cozy.
  3. Just the thought of Southern California makes me happy. I relax the minute my toes hit the airport pavement. It is my happy place. Here is to you Aunt Lizabelle (Isabelle).

  4. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the cool, crisp Midwest air. The smell of fall and the colors of the leaves.

  5. I buy way too many plate stands and jars. I keep stashing them in cabinets. I just can’t help myself.

  6. My husband put gas in my car for me. I hate doing it myself. I can do it myself but it irks me when I have too. I think he signed that part of the marriage license that said something about always making sure your wife has a full tank.

  7. I dream about what I am going to create. It becomes an obsession. I just keep dreaming about it until it is finished.

Check Out Melanie's Travel Album Kit

My friend, Melanie, created this cool travel album. The kit is available on her blog.
Such a great deal....Kara

We All Scream for Ice Cream...

Renee had her annual ice cream party for National Ice Cream day. Such cute napkins. And such cute kids. It is always a fun time with Na-na. We love her like family.

Yummy, yummy!

Tee-Ball

Here is another one of our Summer Activities. He is a little silly but a good ball player.

He looks like Shane here.
Just love that smile.

Girl Scout Mail

Girl Scouts encourages us to write our camper. I went to Hallmark and found some fun cards. Sutton got her a card that sings "Wait a Minute Mr. Postman". While there, we found these cute dogs called Webkinz. They have all types of stuffed animals but we picked out the Chocolate Lab to look like our dog. The animals are so soft. But, the cool part is you register it on-line and can play with a virtual pet. You print off an Adoption Certificate and a Biography about your pet. We sent one to Hayden at Camp from Coco our dog. Here is the website: www.webkinz.com.

I Felt Like it was Kindergarten all over again...

I left my baby at Girl Scout Camp. What was I thinking! They sleep in perma-tents. The showers are gross and she is there for a week. It was her choice to go but I am sure missing her. Lyndi, her good friend is sharing a tent with her. She was happy to see her. When we got to camp, they take your temperature, check for lice, and athlete's foot. Gross! She had a 99.5 degree temperature. Oh, I wanted to take her home right then. She kept saying, I am fine. I feel fine. We will see....I don't think she was sick....just over heated. No air-conditioning at camp. Shane is picking her up Saturday morning while I am in Chicago. I can't wait to talk to her. I am sure she will tell me what a wonderful time she had.

We have a Swimmer...

She is just a natural swimmer. Hayden won this nice, blue ribbon at her second meet ever. She keeps saying that it was just a heat ribbon. She won against the girls in her race only. What she doesn't tell anyone is that she one first place in the butterfly stroke. One of the most difficult stroke to do. Way to go-girl! Next year, you will be a force to be reckoned with.
Love,
Mom

Happy Birthday,Shane...

Shane's birthday was Monday. We don't talk about his age because he is younger than me...only a year but it still hits a sore spot with my ego. Such a cute little boy. I can see Sutton in his face. *Probably it is that "I'm up to something" look.* His friends brought him a little gift and brought me a cutie to play with. Meet Reagan. She is their Granddaughter. Sutton and her had fun playing in the boxes I brought home to pack stuff for CHA in. You can have a million toys but give kids a box and let the fun begin. Hayden took these photos of the kids in the box. She is a great photographer.
